Social Ride Special: Two Mountain Passes in One Go

Group ride over 2 “Cols de Zurich,” approx. 95 km. Brisk pace, but we’ll wait for everyone. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a celebratory beer (or mineral water) together in Horgen. Sunday, June 28, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

As part of the Zurich race series“Les Cols de Zurich,”we’ll be riding the two remaining climbs (“Cols”) in the series as a single, continuous tour this Sunday morning. On this day, both of these climbs will be open for scoring at the same time. That’s reason enough to join our group ride.

This social ride is open to everyone. We’ll adjust the pace to suit the participants (“no-drop ride”).

Of course, the two climbs/col can be tackled at your own pace (full speed for a time trial or at a leisurely pace for enjoyment). At the top of each climb, we’ll wait for everyone and ride together to the next col, or back to Horgen at the end. Duration: about 4 hours; approximately 95 kilometers of rolling terrain.

You should meet the following requirements for this particular social ride:

  • You can ride a road bike for about 4 hours, even on a route with elevation gain
  • You're used to riding in a group
  • You must arrive with a road-legal racing bike and a helmet

Participation is free, and registration is not required. But please be there at least 5 minutes before the start.

Date and time

We’ll leave at 8:00 a.m. from Horgen. Meet in front of the Tempo Sport store at Seestrasse 93, 8810 Horgen. We’ll return to Horgen around 12:00 p.m. for a beer or other drink together. We’ll only ride if the weather is dry.

Good to know 

This is a group training ride that does not include personalized coaching. All participants must bring road-worthy equipment, wear a helmet, and ride at their own risk. Tempo Sport assumes no liability. Registration is not required. The Social Ride will only take place in dry conditions.

At the start of the tour, we’ll take the Horgen-Meilen ferry (departing at 8:15 a.m. from Horgen); cost: 5.- per person (to be paid by each participant). Arrival in Meilen: approx. 8:25 a.m. You can join the tour in Meilen.
