Introduction to Cold-Water Swimming
Whether you’re preparing for the triathlon season (e.g., the Einsiedeln Triathlon) or simply looking to enjoy a swim in the lake, we’re kicking off the 2026 season with a special cold-water swim in Lake Zurich. You’ll learn the basics of cold-water swimming and take a guided swim in the still-cool lake.
Expert guidance
Experienced swim coaches led by Michael “Micky” Tronczik will share tips and tricks for open-water swimming, with a special focus on cold-water conditions. Of course, we’ll be swimming together in the lake.
Program
5:00 p.m.: Part 1 at Tempo Sport in the store in Horgen
– Introduction to the basics of open-water swimming / Refresher course for experienced swimmers
– Tips on preparation, equipment, behavior, training, and safety in cold water
– Answers to individual questions, plus tips and tricks for open-water swimming
6:00 p.m.: Part 2: Practical session on Lake Zurich near Horgen (we’ll walk together from the store to the lake)
– Group open-water training (exact distance depends on water temperature)
Registration and Fees
The cold-water seminar costs CHF 20 per person. Participants in ourOpen Water trainingand registered participants inthe Einsiedeln Triathlonmay attend for free. Wearing a wetsuit is mandatory.
If needed, you can rent a wetsuit for the event at a special price of CHF 20. Please indicate your height and weight when registering.
